A leprechaun (Irish: leipreachán/ luchorpán) is a kind of fairy of the Aos Sí in Irish folklore. They are usually portrayed as little bearded males, using a coat and hat, who partake in mischief. They are solitary animals who spend their time making and repairing shoes and have a concealed pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If captured by a human, they typically give three dreams in exchange for their flexibility. Like other Irish fairies, leprechauns might be originated from the Tuatha Dé Danann. Leprechaun-like animals rarely appear in Irish mythology and only ended up being popular in later folklore.

Let's Start drawing

Step 1. Start by sketching the head. Draw a circle in the center of the page. Inside the circle, draw two perpendicular lines—one going vertically and one going horizontally

Step 2. 

Draw a flat oval on top of the head. Add a truncated cone on top of the circle. This will be the hat.

Step 3. 

Draw a semicircle under the head. It should connect with the bottom of the hat. This will be the beard. Then, on each upper side of the semicircle draw a small pointy arch shape.

Step 4. Draw a circle with no top under the head. This will be the body.

Step 5. Sketch arms and hands. Position them as if the leprechaun is showing you something.

Step 6. Sketch a small pot in the right arm. To draw, draw a circle with a ring around it. You can also add handles if you wish.

Step 7. Draw a "U" with a square bottom below the body. This will make the pants

Step 8. Sketch the legs and feet.

Step 9. Outline the shape and add details

Step 10. Erase the sketch lines.

Step 11. Color the drawing!
