In this tutorial we used the 36 pcs Fine-liner & Dual Tip Brush Pen Set:
Step 1. How to draw Ruby Gillman (Teenage Kraken) body outline.Start by drawing a perfect circle for Ruby's head. This will be the shape of her face. Next, draw a vertical line that starts from the middle of the bottom of Ruby's head. This line should go downwards and be about half the size of the head circle. This will be Ruby's torso. Now, draw a horizontal line that crosses the torso line about one-third of the way up. This line represents Ruby's shoulders. At each end of the shoulder line, draw small circles to mark Ruby's shoulders. These circles should be the same size as the head circle. Then, draw a curved line from each shoulder circle for Ruby's hands. Below the torso line, draw another vertical line. This line should be at the same height as the shoulders and hips and should be about one-fourth the size of the head circle. This line represents Ruby's hips. Lastly, draw two curved vertical lines that go downwards from the hip line. These lines represent Ruby's legs.
Inside the head circle, add one vertical line and one horizontal line that cross each other. These lines will help us with the face later on. Now, draw two small vertical lines where Ruby's neck should be. Connect these lines to the head and shoulders, creating a connection between them. Draw a trapezoid shape using the hip line as the top line of the trapezoid. This will be Ruby's body shape. At the bottom of each hand line, draw small oval shapes to represent the palms of Ruby's hands. Then, draw four longer lines for her fingers. Remember, since Ruby is a Kraken, her fingers can be longer and more tentacle-like! For Ruby's feet, draw medium-sized circles at the bottom of the leg lines. These circles will represent her sneakers.
Now using the construction lines we created we will draw an outline. Main thing to remember is our outline should be going around our construction lines, leaving space in-between.
Draw wide eyelashes towards the outer corner. Pupils should be drawn closer towards the inner circle. Ruby is wearing a turtle neck and shorts, add details of sleeves and turtle neck top. She's wearing stripped tights, add stripes. Draw shoelace detail.
Easiest step! Erase all construction lines, paving the way for the last and best step coloring Ruby in!
Ruby has Dark blue hair with light blue stripes for light and dimension. Her ears, face, hands, eyes and neck are light blue. Ruby is wearing a green turtle neck and purple shorts. Ruby's tights are stripped with purple, violet and white stripes. Her sneakers are purple with black shoelaces.
