How’d you like to learn how to draw a Unicorn that will be the envy of every little girl?
Welcome to a new tutorial on NIL-Tech: "How to draw Unicorn Step by step”. Unicorn is a legendary animal that has been explained given that antiquity as a beast with a single large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead. The unicorn was depicted in ancient seals of the Indus Valley Civilization and was discussed by the ancient Greeks in accounts of nature by various writers, including Ctesias, Strabo, Pliny the Younger, and Aelian. The Bible also explains an animal, the re'em, which some versions translate as unicorn.
In European folklore, the unicorn is typically illustrated as a white horse-like or goat-like animal with longhorn and cloven hooves (in some cases a goat's beard). In the Middle Ages and Renaissance, it was frequently referred to as a very wild forest animal, a sign of purity and grace, which could be recorded just by a virgin. In the encyclopedias, its horn was said to have the power to render poisoned water drinkable and to heal sickness. In medieval and Renaissance times, the tusk of the narwhal was in some cases sold as unicorn horn.
In this tutorial, we used the next art supplies:
Step 1. Set the points of the center of the head, shoulder, hip, and joints of the front and rear legs. We connect them with lines (pencil H5).
Step 2. Draw circles around points. On the shoulders and hips are large, on the joints of the legs are small (pencil H5).
Step 3. Connect the circles with thin lines, which thus denote the contours of the body (pencil H5).
Step 4. We wipe the center line and the lines of circles (washing) with the washing inside the body.
Step 5. We draw more detailed animal outlines, mane, and tail (pencil B3).
Step 6. We wipe the line of sketches. We leave the detailed lines, if the contour lines are erased, we correct with a pencil (pencil B3, wash).
Step 7. We draw the details inside the animal - eyes, mouths, folds, ears, hooves, the horn, and strokes on the animal's body so that later it would be easier to draw play on the wool. (pencil B3).
Step 8. Apply a gray shading and rub it with a feather. (shading, pencil B3).
Step 9. We draw wool. We do not shade the front edges and chest, leaving thin white lines clean to create a shining effect. (B5 pencil, shading, laundry) With a wash, we lighten the bright spots on the body of the unicorn
Step 10. Draw the hair with shadows and abrupt lines.
Step 11. Dimming the contours of the entire picture to create a larger volume (pencil B5, B6, B8)
