Urban Legend "Summer Ghost" Anime Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Summer Ghost is a Japanese animated short film produced by Flat Studio and directed by loundraw. It was released in Japanese theaters on November 12, 2021. The anime movie is heading to North America sometime in summer 2022, GKIDS has announced. It will be available in both Japanese and an English dub.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Tomoya, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Aoi, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ryo, and Rina Kawaei as the “Summer Ghost” Ayane Sato.

1. The Summer Ghost is believed to be the spirit of a young woman who committed suicide.
2. Ayane Sato the “Summer Ghost”,  reveals that only those who are “about to touch their death” are able to see her. 
3. Summer Ghost is part of loundraw’s Project Common multimedia project and is his movie directorial debut. 
4. The film is assured and distinctive, touching on universal themes as well as feeling intensely personal. The film was inspired by a sketch of loundraw’s, and he carries his pared-back style into Summer Ghost – a film he was compelled to bring to life by creating his own animation house, Flat Studio.
5. Loundraw says that the four characters in the film – Tomoya, Aoi, Ryō, and Ayane – are based on aspects of his own personality, with the intention of encouraging the audience to empathise with at least one of the characters, who each has their own struggles, at the same time as making it universal.
