Polar Bears are the largest bear in the world. They hold the title of the top predator in the Arctic. Polar bears are a powerful symbol of the strength and endurance of the Arctic. The polar bear's Latin name, Ursus maritimus, means "sea bear."

 

Interesting Facts about Polar Bears: 

 

1. Polar Bears are Classified as marine mammals

They spend most of their lives on the Arctic Ocean's sea ice. They depend on the ocean for their food and habitat. They are the only bear that belongs to the sea mammals.

 

2. Polar Bears are actually Black

Polar bear fur is translucent and only appears white because it reflects visible light. Beneath a Polar Bear's thick coat, their skin is jet black.

 

3. They can swim constantly for days at a time

They swim at a speed up to 6mph in the water. They can swim for long distances and get from one piece of ice to another for many hours. Their large paws are meant for swimming, which they'll use to paddle through the water while holding their hind legs flat like a rudder.

 

4. Male Polar Bears can weigh as much as 10 people.

Male polar bears can weigh up to 800kg, and are twice the size of females. This, in addition to the fact that they can measure up to 3 meters long, makes polar bears the largest land carnivore in the world.

Step 1. We start the construction by marking the head and paws with the help of the circles, and also add the lengthening of the muzzle. (Pencil B)

Step 3. Draw the shape of the bear's body and draw details such as the nose, eye, ear, and claws on the paws. (Pencil B)

Step 4. Remove all unnecessary construction lines and use the eraser to make the outline lighter. (Eraser)

Step 5. Start painting the shadows. We make them using blue and dark brown pencils, shading with wide strokes to convey the coat's texture. We also paint the nose and eyes with black. (Colored pencils blue, dark brown, black)

Step 6. Enhance the shadows with purple. Add a beige color to the light areas. (Colored pencils purple, beige)
